Includes one morning seminar, the Grand Tasting Tent, and one afternoon seminar.
Friday seminars feature presentations by Bay Area chefs, winemakers, restaurateurs, Master Sommeliers, mixologists, and authors. A day pass includes one seminar from the morning session, one seminar from the afternoon session, and access to the Grand Tasting Tent noon–3:30 p.m. where 25 chefs, 5 artisans, 70 wineries, and local brewers and distillers will serve you samples for your enjoyment.

FRIDAY MORNING SESSIONS

10 a.m. haute vs. bistro
Location: The Westin St. Francis

Enjoy a cooking demo with Master French Chefs and long-time friends Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys) and Roland Passot (La Folie). Watch as the chefs create refined and rustic dishes using the same ingredients. Hosted by View from the Bay’s Spencer Christian.

10 a.m. raid the cellar
Location: The Westin St. Francis

Have you ever wondered what's in the best wine cellars? Sommeliers Rajat Parr (Restaurant Michael Mina/RN74) and Larry Stone MS (Rubicon Estate) lead a tasting and discussion of their personal and hard-to-find favorites. Additional fee $50.

10 a.m. culinary luminaries
Location: The Westin St. Francis

Host Gene Burns of KGO Radio's Dining Around interviews Bay Area culinary legends. Listen as Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook) and Georgeanne Brennan (cookbook author and journalist) share their stories and adventures from their celebrated careers.

10 a.m. sommelier secrets
Location: Farallon Restaurant

Join savvy sommeliers Gillian Ballance (PlumpJack Group), Paul Einbund (Warmth Cafe) and Gourmet magazine wine expert Michael Green for a frank discussion on the latest trends on wine styles, secret finds, and using a sommelier to your best advantage in navigating a wine list.

Location: Kuleto's Restaurant

Marketing guru Andrew Freeman leads a discussion of emerging trends in cuisine, design, and service with Kimberly Charles (Charles Communications Associates), Bob Puccini (Puccini Design Group), Kara Nielsen (Center for Culinary Development), and Jennifer Cox (Joie de Vivre).

10 a.m. wines for oysters
Location: Press Club

Learn to pair varieties of briny sea-sweet oysters with crisp, minerally and bone-dry white wines. Linda Murphy (Decanter magazine), Clive Jones (Nautilus Estate Winemaker), and John Finger (Hog Island Oyster Company) lead a "shuck and sip" pairing and tasting. 10:30 a.m. cabs: aging gracefully
Location: The Westin St. Francis

Cabernet Sauvignon is known to improve with time in the bottle. Ronn Wiegand, Master Sommelier and Master of Wine, leads a discussion of aging cabernets. Cathy Corison (Corison Winery), and Shari Staglin (Staglin Family Vineyard) share favorite old bottles from their cellars. Additional fee $50.

10:30 a.m. cocktails get in the mix:

Some believe that East Coast cocktails are more grounded in tradition, while those from the "Wild West" are more focused on our local bounty of produce.
