Includes one morning seminar, the Grand Tasting Tent, and one afternoon seminar.
Saturday seminars feature presentations by Bay Area chefs, winemakers, restaurateurs, Master Sommeliers, and authors. A day pass includes one seminar from the morning session, one seminar from the afternoon session, and access to the Grand Tasting Tent noon–3:30 p.m. where 25 chefs, 5 artisans, 70 wineries, and local brewers and distillers will serve you samples for your enjoyment.

SATURDAY MORNING SESSIONS

10 a.m. CULINARY MATRIARCHS
Location: Farallon Restaurant

Four female chef icons, Nancy Oakes (Boulevard), Annie Somerville (Greens), Cindy Pawlcyn (Mustards) and Patricia Unterman (Hayes Street Grill) recount the past 30 years in the industry, taking us through their experiences in the business, restaurant, and kitchen. Learn the rewards and challenges they have faced in this dynamic panel moderated by Marcia Gagliardi (Tablehopper).

10 a.m. DELECTABLE DUMPLINGS
Location: E&O Trading Co.

Learn, listen and taste as Sara Deseran (author) leads an exploration of dumplings with George Chen (Shanghai 1930/Betelnut), Andrea Nguyen (author, Asian Dumplings), Shirley Fong Torres (Wok Wiz). Taste the classics from China, learn to make dumplings from various regions in Asia and discover where to find them in the Bay Area.

Location: The Westin St. Francis

Old world meets new world. Venture through the Basque Country’s rich flavors, styles, and methods. Join epicurious Editor-in-Chief Tanya Steel, as acclaimed chef Gerald Hirigoyen (Piperade, Bocadillos), creates classic dishes while rising star Jennie Lorenzo (Fifth Floor) introduces modern takes on the same dishes.

10:30 a.m. SPARKLING PERSONALITY - SOLD OUT!

Sparkling wines are only called Champagne if they are produced in the Champagne region of France. Californians have mastered the same traditional, time-consuming techniques, making superb wines with depth and character. Toast the best of them at this fizz-fest with Jon Bonné (San Francisco Chronicle), Hugh Davies (Schramsberg Vineyards), Arnaud Weyrich, (Roederer Estate), and Eileen Crane (Domaine Carneros). Additional fee $25.

Consumers’ passion for cool-climate-loving Pinot Noir continues to heat up, and the best bottles are getting more and more difficult to find. With Jordan Mackay (author, Passion for Pinot)explore an opportunity to meet Pinot Noir rock star winemakers James Hall (Patz & Hall), Greg La Follette (Tandem Winery), Keiko Niccolini (Flowers Vineyard & Winery), Adam Lee (Siduri Wines), and Zach Rasmuson (Goldeneye). Taste wines from various terroirs in Northern California.
