Learn from some of the country’s top restaurant stars, hosted by Patrick O’Connell (chef and proprietor of the renowned Inn at Little Washington). Meet Drew Nieporent (Myriad Restaurant Group), Tom Sietsema (Restaurant Critic of The Washington Post), Renee-Nicole Kubin (Gary Danko), and Charlie Trotter (of Charlie Trotter’s Restaurants) as they reveal the secrets and unwritten rules of a successful service exchange.

Experience tells us that there are natural partners in certain wines and cheeses. Cheese Expert Laura Werlin (Laura Werlin’s Cheese Essentials) and Sommelier Christie Dufault (RN74) share which go-to pairings work every time.

Syrah is the predominant red wine grape of France’s Northern Rhone Valley, and a rising star in Northern California, too. The Rhone Rangers ride into town for a duel of Syrah-based wines. Kerry Damskey (Terroirs Artisan Wines) leads a tasting and discussion with Randall Grahm (Bonny Doon Vineyard), Nick Peay (Peay Vineyards), Fred Peterson (Peterson Winery), David Ramey (Ramey Wine Cellars), and Tyler Thomas (Pax Wine Cellars).

3:30 p.m. ALSACE IN ANDERSON VALLEY

Enter the world of refreshing Alsatian-style white wines produced in the cool Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. Sip crisp Rieslings, Pinot Gris, Muscats and other racy wines made by folks passionate about Alsatian varietals. Moderator: Lynne Char Bennett (San Francisco Chronicle) moderates a discussion with Deborah Cahn (Navarro Vineyards), Mark Bright (Co-Founder of Markris Wine Group), Douglas Stewart (Breggo Cellars), and Milla Handley (Handley Cellars)

Before our eyes the torch is being passed on to the next wine generation. Despite California's reputation as a "new world" producer, many family wineries have been passed down through generations. Moderator Leslie Sbrocco (Check Please! Bay Area) explores this transition with young winemakes Karl Wente (Wente Vineyards), Jeff Pisoni (Pisoni Vineyards), Jean-Charles Boisset (Boisset Family Vineyards), and Carissa Chappellet (Chappellet Winery).
